A few weeks ago we decided to be a bit more adventurous on our Thursday Night Date. We happened to be heading out of Boston on the way home just around dinner time and opted to stop in Somerville to grab dinner.
As I perused my iPhone for suggested restaurants in the area, I also tweeted about our quest for good food in the area. Both my own research and the suggested from my followers led us to Saloon located in Davis Square. And what a treat it turned out to be!
The atmosphere of the dining room was so inviting - wooden walls, exposed brick, cozy corner booths, dim lighting, and speakeasy style jazz.
Our meals included oysters, cheeses, grilled minute steak, butternut squash gnocchi, and of course a cold cider or two. I felt like we lingered over dinner for hours and they were in no rush to kick us out.
I am not much into bourbon, but if you are, they have an extensive list and the staff are well versed in everything on the drink and dinner menu. If you live in the area, I highly recommend a trip to this new spot in Davis Square.
